ON COMMON PEDIATRIC DISEASES
INTRODUCTION
The term punditries, is derived from the Greek words “Pedia” (Meaning) a child or pertaining to a child), “iatrika” Meaning treatment) and “ics” (meaning a branch of science), as already pointed out, the contemporary understanding of this Greek terms: “Science of child care, preventive as well as curative.” Pediatrics, therefore, is concerned with the health their growth and development and their attaining full potential as adults. A pediatrician’s responsibility is not only to care for the physical, mental and emotional health form to maturity but also to demonstrate concern for the social, environment and cultural influences that are known to have considerable fall out on children and their families.

(i) G: Growth monitoring through the use of such measuring device as growth charts to enable the mother to detect early signs of malnutrition and deal with it.
(ii) O: Oral dehydration therapy consisting of a simple treatment with salts and glucose in water for a child suffering from diarrhea dehydration, The member child killer.
(iii) B: Brest feeding to nourish and protect the young infant from infection and good wearing practices malnutrition.
(iv) R: Respiratory care in another essential item to preserve child health.
(v) I: Immunization against measles, tetanus, polio, whooping cough, diphtheria and tuberculosis which cripple and kill millions of children every year.
DISEASE PATTERN
In observation in the considered area dissolves namely, series systemic infections (Primarily tuberculosis, pneumonia, measles, and whooping cough), diarrhea disease and skin disease were mainly marked in child.
METHODOLOGY OF THE STUDY
Type of the Study
The study was taken on child health. Patients of both sex aged with 12 years were included in the study. Infants commit express their problem. Observing subjective and objective symptoms of the patients applied homeopathic therapeutics.
PLACE OF STUDY
The study was occurred at Lalbagh, Dhaka. Most of the patients associated in this study besides in Lalbagh and Azimpur area in Dhaka.
STUDY PERIOD
1st February, 2008 to 31st July, 2008.
SAMPLE SIZE
A total number of 100 child patient, with different disorders were the instrument of the study, out of that 10 cases of common pediatric disorders elaborated in this dissertation.

DATA ANALYSIS AND RESULTS
Details data furnished in relevant portion of the dissertation. During the 6 month study period homeopathic Therapeutic applied on 100 child patient and of that 66 patients are full cured 44 patients are partially cured and under treatment.

INFANTILE DIARRHEA
Definition:
The passage of three or more loose or watery schools (taking the shape of the container) within 24 hours is defined as diarrhea. Infants and young subjects are very prone to looses of the bowels. Brest feed babies often pass loose pasty stool, His cannot be considered as diarrhea.
CAUSE
In many cases diarrhea occurs purely as a symptom of some constitutional diseases or condition, but generally is indicative of disturbance of the gastro-Intestinal canal, especially of the small intestines.
FEEDING DURING AND AFTER DIARRHEA
The breast-fed infants should be allowed breast feeding as the infant desires. Non-breast feed infants should be allowed is normally consumed by him, will may diluted with an equal volume of water until diarrhea scops, especially for infants.

ASCARIASIS
1. Definition
The manifestation due to infestation by Ascaris lumbricoides are known and Ascarissis.
2. AETIO PATHOGENESIS:
The infection by Ascaris Lumbricoids takes place by swallowing the ova containing nature embryos passed out with the stool of an infected person. If fertilized eggs are swallowed by a human being these pass into the intestine, liberate larvae which penetrate the bowel wall, enter the portal. Straw, pass into the liver and lings and therefore by trachea and esophagus they reach the intestine. Ove appear in the stool of the new host in 2 to 512 months.
3.1 Clinical Features:
Abdominal Pain, Capricious appetite, nausea, visiting, diarrhea, abdominal distention etc, may be present.
3.2 Obstruction of the gut appendix or bleary tract may occur giving rise to colic or jaundice.
3.3 Allergic reaction, vig, Urticaria, Fever, Leoffier’s syndrome or bronchitis, Symptoms of pneumonia etc may be presented.
3.4 Anaesnia, puffiness of face, oedema etc may occasionally be present.
3.5 Grinding of the teeth at night in sleep. Picking oat the nose, cerebral symptoms may be presented.

Whooping Cough
WHOOPING COUGH
DEFINITION

Acute Lobar Pneumonia
It is an acute infectious disease characterized by toxemia, high continued fever usually ending by crisis and a homogeneous consolidation of one or more lobes or segments of the lung caused by diplodocus pneumonia.
Aetiology : Age-All ages, sex- both, session- mostly in winter and spring
Predisposing cause – (1) Previous attack of viral inflection
(2) Low body resistance
(3) Source of inflection- Tonsil
Clinical Features: Onset is sudden:

MEASLES
[Morbilli or Rubeola]
DEFINITION
Measles or robeola is an acute, infections and highly communicable diseases marked by prodromal catarrhal symptoms, Koplik’s spot’s and a typical rash.
AXIOLOGY
Caused by a filterable virus and may occur in sporadic, endemic or epidemic forms. Age-all ages, sex-both, the transmission is direct; by means of droplet transmission is direct, by means of droplet infection. IN cubation is period 10 to 14 days.
B.W CLINICAL FEATURES
A. Prodromal stage (2 to 4 days)
1. Sudden onset
2. Temperature raised
3. Coryza and sneezing
4. Hoarseness of voice
5. Conjunctivitis and photophobia
6. Kopli’s spot, bluish white spots “Appearix mucous membrane of mouth, surrounded by a red areoba, rough appearance.
B. Eruptive Stage (4 to 7 days) – (Usually on the 4th day)- skin rash appervstist on the face, neck, behind ears, forehead and progressing above downward, all over the body, light pink colour. (Pin head in size). Firstly macular is then maculopapulsr.
C. Stage of effervescence
1. Temperature falls by crisis or lysis
2. Rash fades from the face downward in the same sequence as its appearance all leaves brown staining.
